Mom wars: To work or not to work?

For Jani Hart, being a working mom is almost like having a split personality. As an intern architect for Battle Creek's Architecture + Design firm, Hart's days are filled with client calls and business lunches.

As a mom, her nights are filled with bath times, helping with homework and playing dress up with her daughters, Jade, 9, and Joy,5.



For Hart, career success came before her decision to have children, and wasn’t something she wanted to give up.

“I have invested a lot in my career and it is part of who I am,” she said. “We certainly can’t afford for me not to work, but even when and if we can, I would still choose to work.”
